Located in Vulcan Mountains(Merdionali Carphatians), Straja is more like a village resort, with great winter sports potential.
December snow usually lasts until April.
Directions: It can be reached by train til Lupeni on the Timisoara - Simeria - Craiova route, where you'll have to switch to the chair-lift. It can be also reached by car, driving along DN 66 from Petrosani to Lupeni.
